The Timekeeper (2017) – Ireland

A shy antique store owner tries to work up the courage to ask out a local barmaid, but time is against him.

From Listowel, County Kerry – Director Noel McElligott studied filmmaking at St. Johns Central College, Cork, and has worked with the “Kerry Film Festival” and “SecretCineClub” as chief technician. He has also been involved with “Audi Dublin International Film Festival,” “Fastnet Film Festival,” and “Charlie Chaplin Comedy Festival” as an Audio/Visual technician.

As a filmmaker, Noel is interested in creating narrative fiction-drama as a writer/director, and is a member of the Screen Directors Guild of Ireland. Favourite directors include Michael Mann, John Ford, and Stanley Kubrick, and he can usually be found working out of his production office in Tralee, County Kerry. His regular collaborators include Killorglin-based visual artist Neil Browne — which has resulted in him occasionally teachning filmmaking in secondary schools across Kerry.

To date, Noel’s work as a filmmaker has screened at over 80+ film festivals, some going on to win awards, and his most recent project as director of “The Timekeeper” has been submitted to over 200 festivals alone, and has also gone on to screen at select festivals, such as Edinburgh Fringe Festival – the biggest arts festival in the world, Waterford Film Festival, Kerry Film Festival, Richard Harris International Film Festival, and the upcoming Chicago Irish Film Festival in USA.
